Boys of Summer 2020

So, the BOYS OF SUMMER this past Tuesday was a huge success!!  It was a beautiful day as the weather was absolutely perfect. The golf course at West Lake Country Club was in pristine condition, and the camaraderie of old friends was oozing from the tee boxes through the greens!!!

The luncheon in the clubhouse was outstanding with cloth tablecloths and cloth napkins.  It was a beautiful setting.  Hamburgers with all the trimmings, hot dogs, potato salad, cole slaw and salad with delicious chocolate chip cookies for dessert. There were soooo many familiar faces, and one would have to say THANK YOU for the name tags.  But once you realized who it was, it was fun, fun, fun.  Jim Pardue and his committee, (Carole Morris Wright, ’65, Sandra Smith Blanchard, ’64, Maxine Soloman Rigsby, ’69, Jane Powell Edmunds, ’63, Catherine Wier Luckey, ’64, and Lauren Burnett who is Ricky Burnett’s (64) wife, really outdid themselves.  Plans are already in the works for the next BOYS OF SUMMER early November of 2021.

To the right, you will see the leaderboard with the names of the players and their respective scores.  The winners of the scramble, with a gross score of 56, were Jay Blackburn, Jack Fulghum, Bill Godwin and David Mulherin. Congrats!!!!  Tentative plans for the next event will be November, 2021 at the same location.
